When I began my Sea Urchin Series, itwas in response to my desire to loosen up my painting style and experiment with color, and texture and to just have fun exploring.
As a high school Art teacher I had been introducing art journalling practices in my classroom and encouraged my students to explore art journalling for the sake of having fun and in a space where it didn't have to be "perfect". I decided to follow my own advice and the Sea Urchin Series is the result.
